Training

In order to maintain high standards in schools and address the lack of training opportunities available to supply teachers we have produced a programme of high quality training courses run in school holidays. The benefits of enrolling on New Directions Continued Professional Development training courses include:

  • You will be raising and maintaining your professional practice as a teacher.
  • You will be able to include details of your CPD training when applying for long term/permanent teaching posts.
  • Our courses are conducted by experienced education trainers who are former or present Headteachers or Classroom Practitioners.
  • The course content is tailored to be appropriate and applicable to Supply Teachers.
  • You will attend courses with fellow Supply Teachers.

Child Protection

We have created Child Protection guidance notes based on the All Wales Child Protection Procedures. These notes are designed to reassure teachers and advise them of best practise. New Directions run a Child Protection Seminar to support these notes, details of which can be found in the ‘Training for Supply Teachers’ section.
